2nd Trailer Of The Amazing Spider-Man Is Even Better Then The First

Finally, we get the second trailer for the anticipated Marc Webb Spider-Man remake movie based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comic books. The first one although considered a teaser trailer, was in my opinion almost a full length one, sure half of it was some first-person free-running scene from Spidey’s POV (that I doubt will even be in the movie) but still. It definitely showed a lot for a teaser, and this one goes a step further.

What I like about it: Spider-Man is actually funny! He ridicules and mocks a guy trying to jack a car, while being in the car in the back seat. This is the most important thing! As Peter Parker he is nervous and emotionally troubled by the conflicted scenario of both his personalities, his alter ego and his everyday self both have more problems then any teenager should ever face. But once he puts on the mask, he becomes more confident, the inspiration and wisdom from his dad, uncle, girlfriend and Mr. Connors are crystal cleared and he even has a very sarcastic and even goofy side when he fights crime as Spider-Man. He is driven by his mentors and his strong belief of justice and fairness. Its when he takes the mask off that he doesn’t know what to do. I think the Sam Raimi movies failed to show this in almost every level.

Another thing I like is that they show enough of the Lizard for us to see how cool and terrifying he is, but not enough to make this a highlight reel of the movie. Keep in mind though, the cardinal rule, don’t judge a movie by its trailer. This is nothing more then a cool trailer, in reality, this means nothing. Trailers are meant to make any movie look great, but this looks very convincing so far, and I am sold.

  1. Well he has the wisecracks down very well as spiderman and the moves are similar to the first ones. Still not too big on how the lizard looks, I think it’s his face and really wish they would have given him the torn up labcoat at least for one shot. Does look good though and can’t wait to see it.

  2. I do agree on the snout thing, and the lab coat thing.

I think that if you turn into a huge lizard any sort of clothing would be gone, and the lizard didn’t always have a snout in the comics, but still I agree with you he would look a lot cooler that way. Looks isn’t what will make him good or bad though, and as far as looks go the little they showed of the lizard was pretty good, that close-up on his eye was awesome and very detailed, the part when he wrapped spider-man around the throat with his tail was sick, too.

  3. I agree with the tail whip move and can’t wait to see it. That’s just my fanboy raging over little things. I wonder if he will be completely cgi or will they also have makeup effects at all. And I also liked how they showed Peter working on his web shooters.

  4. Oh, no doubt. No real fanboy watches a trailer and lets little shit like that go by. I remember flipping balls over Ryan Reynolds not having white gloves in Green Lantern.

I think they showed pictures of him midway through a Lizard “hulk-out” with him wearing makeup. If he transforms into the Lizard over time (like in The Fly or District 9) they would use makeup. Sure, after the first transformation the following ones will be raging fast like the Hulk, werewolf-like. But honestly I have no idea either, thats an interesting thought though… I hope they don’t fuck it up…

  5. This looks fantastic. This trailer shows completely different footage than the first and BOTH were great so I really do think this will be a great film. AND it is going to BLOW Raimi’s versions compLETEly out of the water!

  6. Oh boy oh boy! It’s on like Donkey Kong! Love the web shooters, although the backseat car scene sounded like a “kick ass” sound bite it was Spidey who first helmed the wisecracks so I cool ..lizard looked good from this guys perspective, But we gotta get the lab coat on him for the first transformation scene at least, can’t wait for what seems to be a lot of night action scenes
